A Reiki treatment is non-diagnostic, non-interventionist and non-manipulative making it entirely safe to use in all situations. Reiki is best known for reducing stress, anxiety and pain, improving sleep and bringing an increased sense of wellbeing to the recipient. It has also been known to bring about healing for a multitude of different issues and is often used as a complementary therapy in hospitals working alongside traditional medicines supporting the body’s natural healing process.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient Japanese technique used to reduce stress and create a feeling of relaxation whilst promoting the natural healing process within. The word ‘Rei’ represents Spiritual Consciousness/ Wisdom in the body, mind and spirit whilst the word ‘Ki’ means Life Energy. Reiki itself is therefore a Spiritually Guided Life Energy. When your 'Ki' is low or if there is a restriction in the flow of 'Ki' within you, you may be more vulnerable to illness.

Reiki is know to work on four levels; spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. The high vibration of the Reiki energy breaks down and clears heavy energy and blocks within our energy system, allowing our natural energy pathways to flow freely again, bringing overall balance, feelings of calm and inner peace.
A Reiki session usually takes place with the client lying down, or sitting, in a comfortable peaceful environment. No clothing is removed as Reiki energy passes easily through all materials, including plaster casts.
The practitioner places their hands gently on or over the body of the the client allowing the Reiki energy to flow from their hands. At no point are hands placed in any personal areas and a completely hands-off treatment is just as effective should the client prefer this. Clients tend to feel deeply relaxed after a session.
The history of Reiki shows that it has been used to support and heal virtually all known illnesses, although no guarantees can be given as each person is different. It also works well alongside conventional medicines due it having no side effects.
